what is mock trial?
Mock trial sounds like it is: a simulation of a court proceeding! Students from high school, college, and even graduate levels work together to present a case to a judge (and in some competitions a jury), modeling the procedural steps which would occur in a real-life trial. Competitors take on a range of positions from having to deliver exacting arguments as lawyers and delivering memorable testimonies as witnesses. If you want to improve your argumentative, presentational, and collaborative skills, mock trial is for you!
what is Speech
Speech — representing just half of what Speech and Debate has to offer— is a dynamic blend of transformative experiences for growing teenagers. It spans from competitive acting and powerful poetry to crafting intricate programs by weaving together multiple works, and even writing persuasive, deeply personal speeches. Students select an event and dedicate time to researching topics, discovering compelling acting pieces, or drawing inspiration from past competitors. With bi-monthly tournaments and a thriving national circuit, students sharpen their speech skills under the pressure of competition
